I think you have a really great start and its hard to make a realistic photo appear like a sketch. perhaps working with some filters and creating an artistic filter such as posterized edges or the sketch filter might help give it more of a drawn look
I think what Angie said; using a bit of filter work would help bring that sketch feel to your face. You can also try pulling the texture from background image and overlaying that
I know this was hard for you. Understandably. You did a great job. You should try to blend the ear and neck a little more.
